✨WHO has officially validated Brazil for eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV — making it the largest country in the Americas to reach this milestone. *How Brazil did it:* ✅ Reduced HIV transmission in pregnancy to below 2% ✅ Achieved more than 95% coverage for prenatal care, HIV testing & timely treatment ✅ Ensured strong data systems, human-rights-based care & community engagement ✅ Delivered free, universal care through SUS — Brazil’s public health system 🌟 This achievement protects mothers and babies, and shows what is possible when countries commit to equitable, high-quality health care for all. 👉 Over the last decade, more than 50,000 pediatric HIV infections were prevented across the Americas thanks to regional efforts. *What we can all support:* ✔ Early prenatal care ✔ Routine HIV testing ✔ Access to treatment for all pregnant women ✔ Health systems that leave no one behind 🌍💛 Every child deserves to be born HIV-free. 🙌✨In 2024 alone, new malaria tools helped prevent 170 million cases and save 1 million lives. 👶🏾🛡️Thanks to vaccines now used in 24 countries and expanded protection for children, 54 million kids received seasonal malaria prevention—up from just 200,000 in 2012. 🎉 Progress continues: 47 countries + 1 territory are malaria-free (including Cabo Verde, Egypt, Georgia, Suriname and Timor-Leste). 😔 But malaria is still deadly: 282 million cases and 610,000 deaths in 2024, mostly among children under 5 in Africa. Drug resistance is growing, funding is shrinking, and climate change is expanding mosquito risk zones. *What you can do:* ✅ Sleep under treated mosquito nets ✅ Get children vaccinated where available ✅ Seek care early when fever occurs ✅ Support awareness and community action Together, we can push for a malaria-free future. 🌍💙 Universal Health Coverage Day 2025: Health is a Human Right 😢 More than half of the world’s population still can’t access basic health services — and 1 in 4 people face financial hardship just to get care. Many must choose between medicine and essentials like food, school fees or housing. 💪🏽✨When people skip care because of cost, illnesses worsen and families can fall into long-term financial trouble. But when governments invest in affordable, accessible health care, communities become healthier, stronger and more prosperous. 💸 Universal Health Coverage (UHC) means everyone can get the care they need — prevention, treatment, rehab, even palliative care — without financial stress. 👉 On 12 December, UHC Day calls on leaders worldwide to remove out-of-pocket fees, protect low-income families, and make smart investments in health for all. *What you can do today:* ✅ Share this message ✅ Support calls for fair health financing ✅ Encourage community conversations on health rights Together, we can build a world where no one is left behind. 💡 A major new review from WHO’s global vaccine safety experts confirms—again—that *there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).* 🔎 The committee reviewed 31 high-quality studies from multiple countries (2010–2025), plus a large study of over 20 years of data from Denmark. ➡️ Their conclusion: *Vaccines used in childhood and pregnancy are safe.* ➡️ No causal link with autism. ➡️ Trace amounts of aluminum in some vaccines are also safe, based on evidence dating back to 1999. 🙌🏽🌍 Vaccines remain one of the world’s biggest public health successes — saving at least 154 million lives over the last 50 years. *What you can do:* ✅ Keep yourself and your children up to date with vaccinations ✅ Share accurate info to counter myths ✅ Trust health advice based on strong science Vaccines protect us — and the evidence is clear: *they do not cause autism.* Read the full article ➡️ https://bit.ly/4qtTcdR
