Conservative candidate Nasry Asfura has been declared the winner of Honduras's presidential election. The bruising contest devolved into chaos when President Trump pledged his support for Asfura, threatening to cut aid if he didn’t win. “Honduras: I am prepared to govern,” President-elect Asfura wrote. “I will not fail you.” The result comes after weeks of delays, and amid accusations of issues with vote counting, including by Asfura’s main opponent, television host Salvador Nasralla, of the centrist Liberal Party.
